"Good morning, Hank!"
"Mama, can I grab Max's fur?"
"Okay, I'll read a book instead."
"Now I'll use him as a pillow!"

Andrew has been thinking about a recliner upgrade for a while. He was very happy to go out shopping for one. We found one that he liked (on sale too!) and it was in the family room by the end of the day!

14 Months

Wednesday, 8/3/2011

Gregory turned 14 months old on August 3! I'm sure he celebrated by running around the house and babbling up a storm!

Tuesday, 8/2/2011

One of Greg's favorite items from the kitchen pantry is the filter for the iced tea maker. He likes to carry it all over the house, sometimes even out on the back deck!
Sitting down to examine the filter
Lying down next to it
Back on the move with filter in hand
"This skillet is fascinating!"

Greg and I met with playgroup friends for lunch at Panera. It was an adventure in sitting arrangements once again, but we got it figured out and had a great time!

"I'm reading Snuggle Puppy!"

Sunday, 7/31/2011

Hi, my name is Elise and I like Halo. A lot. Looking back at these pictures, it appears that I dedicated July 31 to the video game.

I usually play my Halo games in the evening after Greg goes to bed, but a rare middle of the day game was caught on camera. Relaxing on the weekend!
"Mama, tell Newton to turn right."
"What's this button do?"

Major League Gaming was having one of their major tournaments that weekend, and they are streamed live online. I caught games whenever I could. It is really like watching any other professional sport. There are teams, commentators, spectators, etc.
"Mama, Status Quo is pretty good, but they can't beat Instinct!"

It's never too early to wear your Eagles McNabb jersey!
Rockin' my UNSC shirt (yes, that's from Halo)

We went to our friends' home for a lunchtime cookout. There were babies everywhere! So much fun! Greg helped childproof the house.
"They have stacking cups here too!"
Babies babies babies!

Later in the day...
"What's this cymbal doing on my head?"
"Daddy, this is so funny!"
"Mama, what do you think?"

Some of us from playgroup felt extra brave and met up at Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. It was logistically insane. Once we almost had all of the babies in their highchairs/booster seats, the staff told us that we were blocking the fire exit. So we had to regroup and rethink our setup. Eventually we all were able to sit down and eat. Delicious as always.

The babies, especially Miles and Vivienne, enjoyed trying new foods. They seemed to be inhaling everything that their mom Leslie was giving them. It was when we were cleaning up that we discovered just how much the twins had tossed on the floor. They were quite proud of themselves!

At lunchtime, we joined our playgroup friends and tried out another self-serve frozen yogurt place called YoLo. Delicious! The rest of the day was spent at home, as seen in the following pictures...

Behold, the Leaning Tower of Diapers
(more impressive in person)

Sometimes pictures can't do justice to a situation. Greg was tossing books into the box and then tossing them right back out. Imagine it in your mind if you will.

Out of the box
Hank the foreman disapproves

Looking at these pictures of Hank reminded just how much gray/white has appeared on his face over the years. We'll blame 94.2% on Scout.

Seven years later

During the book tossing and Hank supervising, I was sitting on the floor organizing a pile of clean socks. Once the books lost their charm, Greg came over and relocated the socks everywhere. Eventually he began to gnaw on them. Then, with socks in hand, he would run out into the hallway and run back just as fast. He thought this was a hoot, as did I!
"Nom nom nom."
Out to the hallway and back
Back from another pass
"This sock is delicious!"
Infringing on Hank's bubble
"Get away from me, kid."
"Why won't this kid stop following me?"
Back to what they do best

"I can climb into the car on my own now!"
"Beep beep!"

Eh, I have no idea what happened that day!

Tuesday, 7/26/2011

Our good friend Katie stopped by for a visit on her way through Raleigh. She and I lived on the same floor during freshman year at Penn State. 12 years ago!

We met Andrew for lunch at Sarah's Empanadas, then came back for some playtime with Greg and a good catch-up talk while he took a nap.
"See, Katie, you put this magnet thing in this other
magnet thing, then push on it and it makes sounds!"
"Here ya go!"
"You don't say!"
