Nine month check-up, napping, Memaw and Pop-pop arrive, willow tree

Greg turned nine months old yesterday! 3/4 of a year. Hard to believe! He also had his check-up with the pediatrician in the afternoon. Here are his stats:
  • Height - 29.5 inches (85%)
  • Weight - 23 pounds 7 ounces (90%)
  • Head Circumference - 48 cm = 18.9 inches (>97%)
She was very happy with his progress. He was baby babbling a lot during our visit and the doctor said, "You watch, he'll be talking next time I see him!" (at 12 months) We'll see! Makes no difference to me either way. They took a blood sample from his finger to check his iron, which is standard protocol for the nine-month visit. Luckily for him, no vaccinations this time!

Getting to the appointment at 1:45 PM was a little tricky with his nap schedule. He took a great nap in the morning and slept until 10:45 AM. I was worried about his next nap, which if he followed his usual schedule, it was to start at 12:45 PM. So I debated on whether to let him try to nap before the appointment or wait until afterward. I decided to give him a chance to rest beforehand because we wouldn't get home until nearly 3:00 PM. I put him down at 12:40 PM and he was quiet ten minutes later. I had to wake him at 1:25 PM, but he was in good spirits and seemed to be rested enough. Whew! Crisis averted.

We spent some time at the swing after the appointment and then continued to prepare for the arrival of Memaw and Pop-pop (Andrew's parents)! They got here in near record time, but it was shortly after Greg went to bed. The grownups enjoyed the evening that included Philly soft pretzels.
Notice his band-aid on his finger from the doctor's appointment

The early morning sun light was great yesterday and the neighbor's willow tree looked beautiful with the light breeze blowing through it. I took some pictures, but it did not do it justice.
